            The Commonwealth Games 2022 was inaugurated on 28 July 2022, the opening of the ceremony was launched  at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, London..   In this event the Indian contingent was led by P.V Sindhu and Manpreet Singh, unfortunately our gold medallist Neeraj Chopra will not participate due to injury. 

v  72 nations and territories will take active participation.

v  overall in Commonwealth Games India won 540  medals.

v  Last edition of CWC was held at Gold Coast in Australia.

v  14 years old Anahat Singh  was the youngest Indian Contingent player to participate in the CWG 2022.

v  In the last edition of Commonwealth Games, India won 66 medals which was held at Gold Coast in Australia.

v  On the events of day 1 of Commonwealth Games , 210 athletes were performing where, 106 male and 104  female, participating in 16 events.

v  On the events of day 2 of CWC , India secure 4 medals in weightlifting. 

v  Mirabai Chanu was the first Indian to won gold medal in CWC 2020.  She won gold medal in 49kg weightlifting category.

v  On the events of day 3 of CWC, India’s medal rises to 6, as noted that  Achinta Sheuli and Jeremy won gold medals in weightlifting.

v  On the event of day 4, India medals rises to 9, as Vijay won Bronze in Judo, Shushila won Silver in Judo and Harijinder won Bronze in weightlifting.
