INDIAN YOUNG WATER PROFESSIONALS PROGRAMME

· First edition of this programme was launched on November 29,2021.

· The members who were present in this launching programme was, Manpreet Vohra, the Indian High Commissioner to Australia and Barry O’ Farrell, Australian High Commissioner to India and Debashree Mukherjee, Additional secretary of Ministry of Jal Shakti.

· This programme will comes under the National Hydrology Project.

· National Hydrology Project is central sector scheme. That is Centre will produce all the money to the State to finish this programme.

· This Programme was supported by the Australian Water Partnership.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

· The Indian Young Water Professional Programme is different and unique from the other usual capacity building programme.

· Project based learning and the decision making and understanding the situation is the main agenda of this programme.

· The Main focus of the project will be Training the young population with the project explanation.

· This Project will provide certain social benefits. They are Gender Equality and Enhances diversity, and social development.

· It will help in India to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal of Unemployment and Poverty alleviation.

· In the phase of the programme overall 20 members were selected. There were 10 men and 10 women from the agencies which implements the National Hydrology Project (both from Centre and State).
