Malabar Naval Exercise starts on August 26
From August 26, 2021, the navies of India, US, Australia and Japan are conducting Malabar Naval Exercise. The aim of this is supporting free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region. This is an annual exercise of four day affair. This exercise is named as ‘Malabar 21’. Malabar exercise was began in 1992 by bilateral naval exercise in between India the USA . In 2015, a trilater format was formed by combining Japan. In November 2020, India requested Australia to join and they accepted the offer and joined the exercise.
