Airbus Report: The World's first hydrogen-powered aircraft by 2035

Key Points :

European aerospace giant Airbus revealed three concepts for the world's first zero-emission commercial aircraft which could enter into service by 2035.

The concept which we introduce will create a great vision and this is a bold vision for the future of zero-emission flight, said by Guillaume Faury, CEO of airbus.

Hydrogen - clean fuel which emits only steam. Use of Hydrogen as a primary source will reduce the aviation's climate impact. Airbus believes hydrogen as clean aviation fuel and it will meet other industries climate-neutral targets.

Three Concepts of Airbus :

1.      A Turbofan design: Passengers -  120 – 200
                                    Nautical Miles – Range of 2,000 +
Modified gas turbine engine run using hydrogen as a fuel

2.      A Turboprop design: Passengers -   Up to 100
                                       Nautical Miles –More than 1,000
This will be a perfect option for short-haul trips.

3.      Blended-wing body design: Passengers -   Up to 200
Wings merge with aircraft main body
                                          Wide fuselage opens up

This challenge will create a better future for aviation industry and to achieve this goal the support from government and industrial partners are necessary.
